Battling Covid-19 in Latin America
Latam has distributed over 50 million Covid-19 vaccine doses in Brazil, Chile, Ecuador and Peru, which is equivalent to 40% of the doses administered in the region and 2% of the doses worldwide. The special cargo was distributed free of charge within the framework of Latam Group's "solidarity plane" programme.
This logistical effort follows the commitment made with the governments of South American countries where the group has a domestic operation to transport vaccines free of charge on its flights under high biosafety standards.
With over ten years of history, this initiative seeks to generate value in society through connectivity. To date, it has mobilised more than 1,800 health professionals and patients and over 570 t of cargo in South America, including medical supplies and vaccines.
