Breedam innovating EU logistics
The winner of the European Logistics Association’s European gold medal in logistics and the supply chain professional of the year 2014 award is Alex Van Breedam. He received the honour from Johan Van Overtveldt, an ECR member of the European parliament. Breedam was chosen for his innovative concept called the extended gateway.
The idea behind the scheme is the creation of additional locations for value-added logistics. Provinces in Flanders (Belgium) are currently using the idea. Breedam is the founder and CEO of TRI-Visor, which designs and operates horizontal partnerships and collaborative communities among shippers.
The European Logistics Association was founded in 1984 and is a federation of around 30 national logistics associations, covering nearly every country in Europe. (elg)
