CFL Cargo stepping up international operations
The Luxembourg-based rail company CFL is to invest EUR 126 million in its subsidiaries CFL Cargo and CFL Multimodal up to 2020. CFL’s board recently approved the corresponding investment plan, which foresees the construction of a new intermodal terminal in Bettembourg-Dudelange (Luxembourg), and the procurement of new rolling stock, among other items. Some of the money will used to augment international traffic.
CFL Cargo already provides services in France, Germany, Denmark and Sweden. The rail service provider expects total freight traffic to increase from around 1.4 billion tkm this year to 2.8 billion tkm in 2020. (ben)
