Challenge for TUP
The Berlin-based company Lesara is building a new 55,000 sqm logistics platform in the freight village in Erfurt (Germany). The online retailer’s facility will be equipped with warehouse management and material flow control systems from the software manufacturer TUP.
Stefan Fehrenbach, TUP’s project manager, said: "The Lesara project’s very ambitious timetable will be a challenge. Manual processes are due to go live this year. In addition to the detailed specification and development, the systems have to be set up and all tests completed before the end of 2018.
With the project costing EUR 45 million in all, and an expansion stage targeting an average of 33,500 parcels per day, we will certainly have our hands full." The entire project should be handed over in 2019. (mw)
