Cheshire-based S. Cooper & Sons turns 100

The Cheshire-based English haulier S. Cooper & Sons has marked its 100th anniversary with a heartfelt celebration in Winsford, commemorate a century of services in the UK.

The business, founded in 1925 by Samuel Cooper, began with coal and milk deliveries by canal and the railways. The company has remained true to its family-run roots until today. Currently it runs 100 vehicles and 150 trailers nationwide.

It is now managed by the fourth generation of the Cooper family and is a founding member of the Road Haulage Association (RHA) and has been a shareholding member of the Pallet-Track network since 2009.

Operations director Anthony Bullock attributes the company’s success to word-of-mouth popularity, long-standing staff and a strong community ethos. “We’ve always been about our teams –never about individuals,” he said. (ah)
