China Airlines Cargo takes over its first B777F

Taiwan's flagship carrier China Airlines, whose main-deck capacities were provided by 18 Boeing B747-400Fs so far, has taken delivery of its first B777F. The company ordered six of the twin-jets, which are 20% more fuel-efficient than the freighters it uses, a year ago. China Airlines plans to fly the B777F mainly to Europe and North America.

It also plans to display Taiwan-related symbols more prominently on its fuselage, as part of government efforts to differentiate the country more from the PRC. The airline will reduce the size of the carrier's name and place it closer to the tail, making more room. Details of how the space will be filled haven’t been made public yet; the company only said that the information “will be available in due course." (ah)
