China Southern Airlines prefers freighter version

China Southern Airlines has entered into a supplemental Boeing aircraft acquisition agreement with the US manufacturer to amend the terms of the Boeing aircraft acquisition agreement. The carrier wants to change its 20 October 2017 agreement to buy two B777-300ERs into an order for two B777F aircraft. The revised Boeing aircraft will be delivered in 2020.

Under the terms of the amended agreement, China Southern is to purchase six B777-300ERs, two B777Fs and 30 B737-8 aircraft, as opposed to eight B777-300ERs and 30 B737-8s.

According to the information from Boeing, the catalogue price of a single B777F is about USD 314 million, and the catalogue price of one B777-300ER is around USD 317.7 million. (ah)
