Converted freighters ordered in Singapore
The Luxembourg-headquartered aviation company, Vallair Solutions, is the launch customer for the A321 passenger-to-freighter conversion programme of Elbe Flugzeugwerke (EFW), the joint venture between ST Aerospace and Airbus.
The Germany-based aerospace company will convert ten A321-200 passenger aircraft to a 14-pallet cargo configuration with a payload of up to 28 t. The management of the concerned companies agreed that the first aircraft will be inducted in Q4/2018, scheduled for redelivery by end of 2019.
During last week's Singapore Airshow, DHL also ordered one B767-300ER converted freighter. Boeing converted freighters carry up to 58 t of high-density cargo on long-range routes, as well as e-commerce cargo on domestic and regional routes. (ah)
