Decommissioning at Air France and Royal Air Force
After nearly half a century in service, the British Royal Air Force decommissioned it last tanker and transport aircraft of the Vickers VC10 type on Wednesday, 25 September 2013. They will be replaced by the 330-200.
In the meantime, Air France has announced that it not only plans to remove its remaining Boeing 747-400s from its fleet by 2016 but also its two B747-400ERF freighters. Two B777Fs will then be its only full freighters; it plans to transport most airfreight in the hold in the future.
