DFDS loop in Sète celebrates first anniversary
DFDS Mediterranean Business Unit, DFDS' Turkish subsidiary, started its trips to Sète on 9 July 2019 with a twice weekly service. Now, celebrating its first anniversary, the trips are operated three times a week.
Vessels with capacities of 300-TIR-trucks are deployed. Exactly 24,147 transportations were made between Pendik/Yalova & Sète and 29,031 between Sète & Pendik/Yalova since the start of the service.
At the time, DFDS Mediterranean Business Unit moved all its France trips to the Port of Sète due to its intermodal infrastructure, its proximity to destinations in Spain and Portugal and its strategic location for DFDS and its customers.
It offers a service network in the Mediterranean containing 14 large ro-ro vessels. More than 50% of the trade between Turkey and Europe is transported by sea. (mw)
