DHL backs Saudi logistics

'DHL eCommerce' has finalised its acquisition of a minority stake in Ajex Logistics Services, a GCC supply chain and transport company owned by the Ajlan & Bros Holding Group.

The move strengthens DHL’s position in Saudi Arabia’s fast-growing parcel market and supports Ajex’s expansion in the Middle East. Founded in 2021, Ajex operates more than 60 facilities, deploys 1,200 vehicles and employs 2,000 staff. The partnership combines Ajex’s local network with DHL’s global e-commerce expertise aiming to meet rising regional demand, as DHL reported.

DHL eCommerce CEO Pablo Ciano said the investment forms part of the DHL Group’s EUR 500 million growth strategy in high potential markets like Saudi Arabia, under its 'Accelerate Sustainable Growth 2030' plan.

Ajlan Mohamed Al Ajlan, group managing director of Ajlan & Bros, emphasised the role of the partnership in advancing Saudi Arabia's 'Vision 2030', boosting delivery standards and driving the region’s e-commerce sector. (js)
