DHL Freight invests in new freight hub in Hanover

DHL Freight is making a multi-million investment in the construction of a state-of-the-art freight hub on a 63,000 sqm site in the Hanover airport business park in Langenhagen (Germany).

The strategically important hub for the company’s European road transport network will have, inter alia, a more than 7,800 sqm transhipment terminal equipped with over 80 loading bays. When finished, the hub will provide sufficient capacity to process in excess of 600'000 t of LTL cargo per annum, and around 260 employees will take care of day-to-day scheduling and consolidation for the company’s European freight network.

The location near Hanover airport was chosen for its good transport connections for both long-haul and short-haul transport. The development of the site also includes the consolidation of DHL’s two existing Hanover sites at the new location. (mw)
