DHL sells Swiss supply chain business

The Swiss service and logistics provider Fastlog with headquarters in Thun has acquired the supply chain business of DHL Logistics (Switzerland). All 200 employees, all customer contracts and DHL’s four locations in Derendingen, Pratteln, Rümlang and Satigny will be taken over.

With this purchase, Fastlog, which used to be focused primarily on the ICT market, is branching out to other fields of industry. In future, the company intends to use five locations to serve customers from the textile, luxury goods, medical technology, automotive and vending (producers and sellers of vending machines) sectors.

The provider’s staff will grow from about 140 to around 340 employees, and the existing 25,000 sqm warehousing and services areas will be increased threefold.

Werner Steiner, president of the administrative board and co-owner of Fastlog, says: “More space, a more comprehensive network across Switzerland, more capacities for innovation and development – this takeover creates a range of completely new options for Fastlog’s future development.” (mw)
