ELP delivers 100th locomotive

European Loc Pool (ELP) has marked the entry into service of its 100th locomotive, with the handover of an 'Eurodual 272-4' to Havelländische Eisenbahn (HVLE) on 3 September.

The milestone highlights the rapid growth of ELP’s hybrid locomotive fleet, designed to meet increasing demand for longer and heavier trains and more flexible logistics solutions as the company reported. The 'Eurodual' series combines electric and diesel power, enabling operations on both electrified and non-electrified routes.

Willem Goosen, co-founder and CEO of ELP, said the 100th unit symbolises customer trust and the strength of the company’s strategy and partnerships. He added that HVLE, the launch customer for the 'Eurodual' series, continues to play a key role in deploying the locomotives in freight operations across Germany. (js)
