Emirates celebrates 15 years of connecting Kiwis
Emirates is celebrating 15 years of operations to Auckland. It launched its services to New Zealand’s largest city with daily flights via Sydney and Melbourne and later Brisbane. Today, it operates a daily Airbus A380 nonstop flight from Auckland to Dubai, as well as a new daily Boeing B777-300ER service via Bali (Indonesia).
In the last three years, Emirates SkyCargo has uplifted more than 85,000 t of cargo to and from Auckland, carrying goods such as fresh fruits and vegetables, fish, pharmaceuticals and equipment. The major airfreight operator in New Zealand offers more than 55 t of daily belly-hold capacity.
In 2017, Emirates SkyCargo transported the 'Aotearoa', Emirates Team New Zealand’s boat for America’s Cup sailing, from Auckland to Bermuda. (ah)
