Europa expands hub in preparation for Brexit

Three years after its inauguration, Europa Worldwide Group, a major supplier of logistics services, has invested GBP 2 million in a reconfiguration programme at its hub in Dartford (United Kingdom). The upgrade was part of a long-term strategy to expand the site to meet growing demand, but with Brexit fast approaching, the project was sped up.

The investment to further develop the 26,368 sqm facility, which covers an area as large as seven football pitches, focuses on the European road transit hub. It includes a staged expansion of racking capacities and an extension of the transit zone, creating 75% more racking space for transit cargo.

The reconfiguration was an intricate operation, taking three months to complete. The racking had to be dismantled and re-fitted. Operations were closely monitored to avoid any disruptions during this period. (mw)
