Europe's airports: robust freight traffic growth in April
The European airport trade association, ACI Europe, has released its April 2018 traffic report. In the month under review, the amount of freight traffic in geographical Europe grew by an average of 3.9%, vis-a-vis April 2017.
The leading stations were Frankfurt with 179,012 t of cargo handled (+1.5%), Paris Charles-de-Gaulle (160,516 t, -1.5%) and London Heathrow (141,215 t, +2.3%). The three airports once again beat Amsterdam (137,149 t, -6.3%).
The ranking remained the same for the entire traffic year-to-date, which increased by 4.3% according to ACI Europe. FRA came in first with 682,907 t (-0.2%), followed by CDG (629,922 t, -1.1%), LHR (557,949 t, +3.8%) and AMS (548,689 t, -3.1%). (ah)
