Even more European airfreight in August
In August, freight traffic across the European airport network remained consistent with the previous month, coming in at +10.9%.
The European section of Airports Council International further reported that Frankfurt airport remained number one, totalling 171,761 t of airfreight (+5.6% year-on-year), Paris CDG took second place again with 163,000 t (+5.8%), Amsterdam came in third with 146,666 t (+7.6%) and London Heathrow, with the highest increase among the four leading stations (+13.1%), remained in fourth place with 139,023 t.
These four airports are also the only ones in Europe which have handled more than 1 million t of airfreight since the beginning of 2017: FRA 1st with 1,390,775 t (+5.6%), followed by CDG (1,290,704 t, +2.9%), AMS (1,162,140 t, +8.3%) and LHR (1,105,601, +10.3%). (ah)
