Express train links Quanzhou with Moscow

On 18 January 2022, a new China Railway Express (CRE) train set off from Quanzhou (China) bound for Russia. It carries 50 containers weighing about 445 t and containing sanitation supplies, bags, shoes and clothing and handicrafts for Moscow.

According to the Quanzhou municipal bureau of commerce, it is the first CRE train to Europe from Quanzhou, which is the starting point of Maritime Silk Road, and the inauguration of the train route will open up new avenues for foreign trade in Jinjiang, a county-level city of Quanzhou City.

The non-stop train is still en route, will cross the border at Manzhouli frontier station and arrive in Moscow after a 20-journey covering about 10,960 km. This railfreight service shortens the transportation time by 25 days when compared with maritime shipping.
