Far-reaching newcomer from Moldova

7 August was a historic day for Aerotranscargo, as its Boeing B747-400ER-JAI landed in Australia for the first time. Brisbane airport guided the aircraft to a nose-in gate of its international terminal. To get a ‘Foreign Air Transport AOC’ and thus be able to operate to Australia, the Chisinau-based airline had to fulfil very stringent technical and operational requirements.

The carrier is also increasing its fleet to five B747-400Fs in September. To further extend its reach, Aerotranscargo has appointed Air One Aviation, formerly known as Chartersphere UK, as its exclusive global GSA. Air One also added Guneet Mirchandani and Peter Scholten to its team recently, bringing decades of international commercial aviation experience to the company. (ah)
