FedEx Express expands in Canada
The CEP service provider and integrator FedEx Express has boosted its service in western and midwestern Canada, with the expansion of an airport facility and two new daily flights. The company recently completed a new platform to improve its services in and around Calgary, Alberta, and added new daily flights between its World Hub in Memphis TN (USA) and Winnipeg, Manitoba and Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
According to FedEx, its expansion was driven by demand for its next-day shipping, deferred delivery, large-consignment air freight and specialised solutions, particularly in the small business sector.
In Calgary the integrator has added 2,800 sqm of operational space to its airside package sorting and distribution facility, which allows for faster package sorting and earlier deliveries to downtown Calgary. The site now covers over 10,000 sqm in all, and more than 375 employees are based there, along with over 90 courier and cargo vehicles.
