Fevzi Gandur opens warehouse at Istanbul airport

Fevzi Gandur Logistics (FGL) has started operations in its new warehouse at the recently inaugurated Istanbul airport. With the new facility, FGL will enlarge its offer by creating value adding solutions, storage, pick up & delivery, pick & pack, consolidation & de-consolidation, order management, and similar services.

This is the first time a non-bonded warehouse has been let at a Turkish Airport, so FGL's investment is playing a pioneering role in the country's airfreight industry.

Hasan Şafak, FGL's general manager of air & sea freight, mentioned that his company aims to increase its market share in the airfreight transport sector, which grew by 305% last year.

Şafak also said that because of Turkish Airline’s extensive global coverage and the strategic location of Istanbul, the new Istanbul airport is expected to become a major hub for airfreight in the near future. (mw)
