First EV lorry for Alltruck
Alltruck has deployed its first all-electric truck in the UK leasing sector, advancing its Alltruck Zero programme towards the UK government's 2050 net zero target.
The 'DAF XD Electric', fitted with a GRP box body, roller shutter and tail lift, offers a 200-mile range, making it suitable for London’s low emission zone, as the company reported.
Powered by a 'Paccar EX e-motor' with high-capacity fast-charging batteries, it supports short and long-haul logistics. Real-time battery monitoring, route optimisation and predictive maintenance aim to maximise uptime. The truck body was built at Alltruck’s Loughborough Bodyshop. Since launching Alltruck Zero in 2020 with a Mercedes Benz eSprinter, the company has developed in-house capability to adapt and maintain EV-specific bodies. (js)
