First gas-powered truck in Memmingen

Gebrüder Weiss, which is based in Memmingen (Germany), put the region’s first gas-powered swap body vehicle into operation at the beginning of June this year, a move that will save the company about 20 t of CO2 per year. Nitrogen oxide output is 70 % below the limit for Euro-6 diesel trucks.

The gas-powered truck runs daily between Memmingen and Augsburg during the day as well as between Memmingen and Nuremberg at night. It has a range between 1,200 and 1,500 km.

With this swap body vehicle the company has taken a further step on the way to providing eco-friendly transport solutions, Gebrüder Weiss said. (ben)
