First participation pays off

Few days before exhibiting at this week's Dubai Airshow (DAS), a step which the company itself calls "a historic first", Israel Aerospace Industries' (IAI) Aviation Group signed an agreement with London-based lessor World Star Aviation to convert ten B737-800 passenger aircraft (photo) to cargo configuration, with an option for an additional ten conversions.

The conversions will take place at IAI's partially-owned subsidiary, Bedek Lingyun (Yichang) Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Co. in China, "and in other locations".

During DAS, Emirates Skycargo signed an agreement with IAI for the conversion of four B777-300ER passenger aircraft into full freighters (+4 on option at a later stage). The conversion for the four aircraft will commence in early 2023 and is expected to conclude in 2024. (ah) www.iai.co.il www.skycargo.com
