Florida's first ocean-to-air perishables shipment
Miami international airport (MIA), Crowley and its subsidiary Customized Brokers have facilitated Florida’s first-ever ocean-to-air perishables transhipment from Guatemala to the Netherlands.
The first transhipment included nearly 10 t of snow peas from Guatemala. The refrigerated cargo arrived in Port Everglades FL (USA), aboard Crowley’s cargo ship "Tucana J", and then was trucked to MIA, before being flown to Amsterdam by Centurion Cargo last week.
"This is a milestone that shows Customized Brokers’ ability to provide far-reaching services that speed customers’ products to market," said Kimberly Wakeman, vice-president, Customized Brokers. (ah)
