For a sustainable warehouse design

Cargo-Partner is planning various measures to promote sustainability. For example, the company’s offices and warehouses in Austria have been sourcing 100% of their electricity from renewable sources already since 2017.

Stefan Krauter, CEO of Cargo-Partner: "Our work is never done when it comes to sustainability. Our iLogistics centres in Fischamend and Dunajska Streda are just two examples that show that efficient logistics processes often translate into a lower CO2 footprint."

At the warehouse in Dunajska Streda, Slovakia, which is directly connected to the Metrans rail container terminal, Cargo-Partner uses special forklift trucks to bring the containers directly from the siding to the warehouse via special docks. Here, CO2 emissions are reduced by avoiding unnecessary road transport.

In another project, solar operation will provide a third of the energy required for the logistics centre in Ljubljana (Slovenia) from 2023. (sh)
