Founder of Wascosa passed away

The founder of Wacosa AG, Max Sandmeier-Novarese, died aged 86 in Oberägeri (Switzerland), on 14 October. A pioneer in his business field, Sandmeier together with Pietro Scotti and Peter Waelty established Wascosa in 1964. As one of the first railway wagon lessors in Switzerland he garnered his professional experience after the Second World War. Sandmeier developed his company into an important medium-sized leasing enterprise over a 30 year period. After his retirement from active business management at the end of 1993, he continued to serve the company as a member of the board until his final departure in 2006. The firm and its employees remained dear to his heart until the end.
