Four countries cooperating in railfreight sector

Representatives of the railway administrations of Kazakhstan, China, Iran and Turkmenistan have agreed to increase rail traffic on the China-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran (CKTI) corridor, and they want to organise a regular container service on the route.

At the quadrilateral meeting, held in Astana (Kazakhstan), the representatives also discussed how to establish competitive tariffs for cargo haulage along the CKTI corridor. Following the meeting, the parties identified responsible operators for the organization of container trains on CKTI, and signed a protocol on its results. (ben)
