Grocery retailer to modernise fleet
Spar Scotland has invested GBP 1.6 million (EUR 1.87 million) in a fleet of new vehicles. The first of twelve new trailers were recently delivered to the retailer's distribution centre in Dundee.
The new trailers incorporate the latest thermo king A400 advancer refrigeration units, which improve fuel efficiency by around 30% and significantly reduce CO2 emissions.
Later this year, Spar will also take delivery of four new Scania rigid vehicles and five new Scania tractor units to replace some of the older Man vehicles on the fleet. The new vehicles will operate from Dundee and travel anywhere from Kirkwall in the north to Gretna in the south. (ben)
