Growing Finnair Cargo picks digital booking platform
In February, Finnair's available scheduled cargo tonne kilometres increased by 16.2% year-on-year. Revenue scheduled cargo tonne kilometres rose by 26.2% mostly driven by the strong positive cargo market development in Japan and Western Europe.
In order to continue this strong growth, Finnair Cargo is boosting its digitalisation efforts by partnering with the multi-airline booking platform Cargo.one. Starting from May 2019, the carrier is empowering freight forwarders to digitally book spot market capacities at live prices and with direct booking confirmation.
Moritz Claussen, managing director Cargo.one: "Finnair is joining other prominent cargo carriers to actively drive the industry's digital development. This will benefit their customers and further strengthen their position in the market." (ah)
