Improved hinterland connections for the northern ports

CTS and IGS Intermodal will launch new intermodal shuttle services in Germany, linking up the maritime ports of Hamburg und Bremerhaven with the CTS Terminal in Cologne’s Niehl port.

To begin with, the container trains will run three times per week and direction. The import trains of IGS and CTS will start on Sundays, Tuesday and Thursdays in Hamburg. Rail traction will be operated by Rheincargo.

At the same time as the start of the container trains, the IGS Intermodal plans to increase the number of services from the terminals in Aschaffenburg and Schweinfurt to the maritime ports from four to five round trips per week. (ben)
