Improved rail infrastructure in Liberec region

Czechia’s railway infrastructure administration SZDC has improved three railway lines in the Liberec region in northeastern Bohemia. The upgrade ensures the Stará Paka – Malá Skála, Turnov – Liberec and Liberec – Tanvald tracks are compliant with the EU’s technical parameters and standards.

The three projects costing CZK 1.5 billion (EUR 55.5 million) included adaptations of the railway superstructure and substructure, platforms, bridges, culverts, railway crossings and walls. The renewal of selected distribution systems and certain elements of the safety and signalling installations also formed part of the upgrade. (ben)
