Increasing railway speeds in Minnesota
Union Pacific, a US class I railroad, will increase maximum speed limits from 50 to 65 km/h on the line running parallel to highway 60 in Worthington MN (USA). Train speeds between the 12th street and Armour Road crossings will increase in weekly 8 km/h increments from 28 June, until they reach 65 km/h limit on 5 July.
Furthermore, Union Pacific plans to invest USD 6 million in Minnesota in 2018, to support the state’s current and future freight transportation needs and to enhance safety and efficiency, the railroad said. (ben)
