Inner Mongolia to Iran in 15 days
A new railfreight service linking North China’s Inner Mongolia autonomous region with the Iranian city of Bam, was launched on 4 September. The first train departed from a logistics park in Inner Mongolia and is expected to arrive in Bam 15 days later, on 19 September.
The time required to cover the around 9,000 km long rail link is about 20 days shorter compared to the maritime route. The first train is hauling 41 containers stuffed with car parts, machinery and equipment. A railfreight service was already launched from Bayannur in Inner Mongolia to Teheran, Iran’s capital in May.
