Investment at London Medway
A GBP 5.5 million (EUR 6.3 million) investment in the London port of Medway will allow the hub to replace its Royal Bridge Pontoon. The work will include a new 12 m wide and 45 m wide ramp to allow larger stern-ramp ro-ro vessels to berth at the port.
The move to allow more larger vessels to call will mainly support the unaccompanied freight as well as the automotive sectors. The forestry and automotive industries are amongst London Medway’s core business segments, with the former also providing opportunities for growth.
The investment is part of a string of additions to services at London Medway, including the development of a new GBP 40 million (EUR 46 million) forest product hub at the Wellmarsh site.
