Iran opening up
The recent successful political negotiations between Iran and six world powers have opened the door for a quick revival of the once strong economic relations with the West. Conditions for a strong forwarding industry are already in place. The latest example of this has been given by Aryamasir International Transport (AIT), the Iranian member of Network Cargo Connections.
AIT has just transported a Porsche from Kazakhstan to the port of Bandar Abbas (Iran), where it was loaded onto a vessel for shipping to Dubai. As the shipment was urgent, AIT pulled out all the stops and reduced the transit time to twelve days. AIT’s general manager, Afshin Daryaie, pointed out: "there is a lot of export cargo from the CIS to China, India and Pakistan."
His company offers solutions by picking up shipments from Uzbekistan and Tajikistan for example, and re-stuffing them in the port of Bandar Abbas for further transhipment.
