Israel to reform seaports
According to local media, Israel's transport minister, Israel Katz, has announced that two tenders for private companies to build a new port will be published on 1 July. The tenders are part of a programme that aims to increase competition between Israeli ports, as well as to expand ports to reach deeper waters, which will facilitate larger ships. The country's main seaports are Ashdod and Haifa. Israel has been developing a programme to develop its ports for a several years.
