Italy sets out new air cargo strategy
Pescara's Abruzzo Airport (PSR) gathered regional leaders and industry players to outline a stronger role for airfreight in central Italy. At the "Cargo Aereo in Decollo" forum held few days ago, discussions focused on how innovation, efficient logistics and sustainability can position the airport as a national and international cargo hub.
Regional president Marco Marsilio said the air cargo sector is a strategic opportunity for Abruzzo, adding that closer cooperation between institutions, private operators and associations is essential to attract investment and support local businesses. Poste Air Cargo’s CEO and representatives from multiple industries underlined the need for modern infrastructure and integrated planning to meet rising demand and reinforce Italy’s supply-chain network.
