Knight Swift hit in Q4/2022

USA-based forwarder Knight-Swift Transportation witnessed a difficult Q4/2022. The company’s operating income dropped by 41% to USD 203 million (Q4/2021: USD 342 million), and freight demand was considerably lower than expected.


The winner of the quarter was LTL, which increased significantly by 87% to USD 25.6 million, but all other segments went down. The truckload segment even lost 37% or USD 92 million compared to Q4/2021. With regards to 2023, Knight-Swift expects a low first half of the year, but a recovery in H2/2023, "leading up to an improving Q4 peak season,” the press release said. (sh)
