Lagermax mourns death of Anton Baumgartner


Lagermax announced in June that Anton Baumgartner, who helped shape the Salzburg transport and logistics company for over seven decades and was awarded the golden medal of merit of the state of Salzburg in 1986, passed away on 10 May shortly before his 90th birthday.

 

As co-owner, chairman of the supervisory board and general director of Lagermax Lagerhaus und Spedition, he was associated with the company all his professional life and decisively shaped the development of the group with foresight and responsibility.

 

This includes the construction of the Lagermax car terminal in Strasswalchen in 1972 and the opening of the company’s first branches abroad near Budapest in 1990. The more than 3,500 employees of the Lagermax Group generated a total turnover of EUR 501 million in twelve countries in 2020. (amh)
