Learning how to avoid truck congestion at Heathrow

CCS-UK User Group – the not-for-profit body which represents users of the UK’s air cargo community data system – is hosting a series of seminars to showcase its solution for streamlining collections and deliveries of airfreight at Heathrow’s cargo terminal. The first seminars will be held on 16 July at Stanwell Hall Hotel, at 10:30 and 14:30. Places can be booked with Guy Thompson at guy.thompson(at)tiscali.co.uk .

They are focussed on the Advance Information System (AIS), a bolt-on module for CCS-UK that has reduced the time taken to process trucks. Chairman Steve Parker: "AIS has demonstrated significant benefits for all parties. All handlers on Heathrow’s ageing cargo terminal should now adopt this system, so that freight agents and hauliers can use a single system to deliver to all transit sheds." (ah)
