MAN sends heavy recovery vehicles to Sochi
The German HGV manufacturer MAN has delivered nine TGS 8x4 chassis for heavy recovery vehicles which are now in service in Sochi (Russia). The four-axle, 480 hp MAN units will help to quickly remove traffic obstructions, such as heavy vehicles that were involved in accidents.
The 41 t units, which are designed to tow buses, trucks and heavy trailers, have been equipped with two steel cable winches with a drag force of up to 53 t for recovery operations. After the vehicles’ deployment in Sochi, the trucks will be used as heavy recovery vehicles in Russia’s public transport sector. (ben)
