More eco-friendly trucks for hinterland logistics

Contargo, a network for container hinterland logistics, and Rhenus Trucking have received funding approvals for 28 battery-powered 44-t trucks and the associated charging infrastructure from the German Federal ministry of digital affairs and transport (BMVI).

Rhenus Trucking will now order the vehicles from various manufacturers and gradually make them available to its customers and its sister company Contargo. Contargo will use the battery-powered tractor units at its terminals and locations in Germany. (ben)
