More money for shipowners
Oceanis, a Hamburg-based finance platform for shipowners, has closed USD 200 million in financing transactions since it was launched in May 2019. The online platform connects shipowners seeking finance with banks and other financial institutions. It now does business with more than 100 shipowners.
The platform has seen a sharp rise in projects submitted since 2021. The debt providers using the platform include traditional shipping banks, Asian leasing houses and alternative debt funds from across the globe.
The Oceanis team of ten employees in its Hamburg office is led by executives who previously worked for shipowners, banks and software companies. (sh)
