More trucks on Austria’s roads
Austria’s state owned motorway and trunk road financing corporation Asfinag has reported that the total amount of traffic on all the country’s major corridors increased by an average of 2.9% in 2016, compared to 2015. The number of heavy goods vehicles (3.5 t and over) grew at an above average rate of 4.8%.
Almost all of Austria’s corridors registered more individual and commercial traffic. Only corridor 2 (the A 12 Inntal and the A 13 Brenner motorways) and the Vienna conurbation registered a lower growth rate (3.9% more HGVs and 2.9% more HGVs respectively). (ben)
