New train service links the Netherlands with Scandinavia

Cabooter, Westerman and DB Cargo are joining forces and have jointly launched a new intermodal link between Venlo (the Netherlands) and Scandinavia.

To begin with, the new train offers three direct services per week between Venlo and Malmö and Norrköping in Sweden. From Malmö there is also the option of further transport to Oslo in Norway. The train carries containers and mega trailers.

DB Cargo is responsible for the traction of the train, the service is operated by Westerman, and Cabooter runs the terminal in Venlo. The new intermodal service reduces CO2 emissions by 50% compared to road haulage on this connection. (ben)
