Nice welcomes first direct flight from China
Ten days ago, on 2 August 2019, a French airport outside of Paris welcomed a direct flight from China. Air China‘s A330-200, which offers a three-weekly service between Beijing and Nice, has an underfloor cargo capacity of 37.5 t.
After being honoured by an official visit from President Xi Jinping at the end of March, the Côte d’Azur has become an even more attractive destination for Chinese business. Dominique Thillaud, chairman of the management board of Aéroports de la Côte d’Azur: "This new route represents numerous economic opportunities for the Côte d’Azur, and the Région Sud more generally, and greatly helps to boost its appeal around the world."
Also during the past summer, the Southern French airport welcomed a new regular service from Kuwait Airways. (ah)
