Nordic nuptials put duopoly question on agenda
This week, Icelandair, to date a Boeing-only operator, took over Wow Air, that swears by Airbus aircaft. The latter carrier will remain independent in brand and AOC terms.
If Wow Air were to merge with Icelandair, the airline would operate a mixed aircraft fleet. That, in turn, would raise a question about future orders.
The European and the US aircraft manufacturers have just tabled their arguments: United Airlines acquired its first B787-10, making it the world's first airline to operate all three Dreamliner designs. And the Airbus A330-800 has just completed its maiden flight. (ah)
