Not Lewis & Clarke, but Lewis & Clipper

Retailer John Lewis & Partners has contracted Leeds-based Clipper Logistics to provide further e-commerce and logistics services for points of sale in UK. The services are based in Clipper's new distribution centre in Bardon, near Leicester.

The logistics company already works with John Lewis in reverse logistics for e-commerce products, forward orders for furniture and pre-retail operations for clothing suppliers. The joint venture Clicklink provides click and collect services for John Lewis’ e-commerce customer orders to Waitrose and Co-op stores nationwide.

The extended operation is to run for a first term of three years. Operations will start by the end of August. The additional facility was built in order to support John Lewis' e-commerce and point-of-sale activities in preparation for the Christmas peak season in 2020. This temporary support has now developed into a three-year additional contract. (sh)
